    Opinion from outside IE

A few words of introduction. I tested these tyres during my summer holidays. I tested them in Germany, Switzerland, France (1890 miles). In total more than 5600 km in three weeks. The surfaces on which the tyres were tested were practically all that can be found in winter conditions (after all these are summer tyres). Driving on the motorway was very comfortable and calm. I must also mention that I had a situation where I had to make a quick maneuver at a speed of 120 km per hour, even if it was dangerous, the tyres did not lose grip and I did not lose control over the car. There were also difficult situations where I risked an accident but after all - it was my undeniable fault.... As far as braking is concerned I am also very satisfied with the Michelin Energy Saver. Finally, let me add that on wet ground one can drive safely. In conclusion, the model is worthy of recommendation. Read more Collapse

    Opinion from outside IE

I have been driving for about 15 years on Michelin tyres of various types, both summer and winter. I have been using the ENERGY SAVER summer tyres and ALPIN 4 winter tyres for about 4-5 years now, and I am satisfied with them. The car / large van / handles well in all weather conditions, both in the city and on the motorway, and I have never had a moment's thought of being let down on long journeys or in the city. My wife also uses Michelin summer-winter tyres, and she also praises them. Of course, it is not the cheapest purchase, but I believe that you should not cut corners on your own safety and that the expense, although painful for the pocket, balances the costs of use, counting both the time of use and the mileage. I have been driving for 30 years and I think Michelin brand tyres are unbeatable. I have had different brands and I will not name them, but the Michelins are truly unbeatable, both on dry and on wet roads. They are durable and even after 50 000 km you cannot see any signs of wear. They behave perfectly on wet pavement, braking distance is the same as on dry pavement, in any case you can say there is no noticeable difference. When driving you can literally hear them sticking to the asphalt surface. They are quiet and you can feel the driving comfort after changing from other brands to Michelins. In the middle class they are unrivalled and I will always stick to this brand. I have not tested the higher classes. Read more Collapse

On mountain roads I strongly recommend keeping the tyre pressure 3/4 decimal points higher. This will give you the best regular wear and durability in terms of kilometres, without affecting comfort. You should be slightly more careful when cornering on wet roads. It will still maintain good grip when braking suddenly and on water planing. I also noticed a decrease in fuel consumption of 2%. 25,000 km currently driven on mountain roads for 70%, current wear of 75% before the wear indicator. I hope I've been helpful. My professional activity: public taxi service. My driving experience: since 1979. My total kilometres driven to date: 2,575,000. Read more Collapse

Michelin ENERGY SAVER tyres belong to the generation of environmentally-friendly "green" tyres. Innovative technology ensures much lower rolling resistance and, as a result, reduced fuel consumption. This is thanks to the partial replacement of soot with silica. The necessary safety levels are provided thanks to the Durable Security Compound (DSC), an entirely new tread component that does not contain highly aromatic oils. This innovative compound allows for optimal braking thanks to stabilisation of the tread rigidity.

The Michelin group was founded in 1889 by two Frenchmen - Edouard and André Michelin. A long history and the use of innovative technology means that Michelin is now one of the world's largest tyre manufacturers. The French group has won F1, WRC and GP Moto world titles. Michelin is also a majority shareholder in brands such as: Riken, Taurus, Siamtyre, Tigar, Euromaster, Warrior, Kormoran, Recamic, Kleber and BFGoodrich.
