255/70 R16 tyres are produced with delivery cars and 4x4s in mind. The size of the tyre can be seen on its sidewall in a form of a string of numbers with a letter. The first number informs about the tread width of the tyre and it is provided in millimetres. In the case of the 255/70 R16 tyre it is 255 mm. The second number equals the tyre profile's height and its percentage ratio to the tyre's tread width, meaning, e.g., 70% out of 255 mm.
