For the first two years of the summer season the Toyo R1R were unbeatable. The engine could not break the grip except if we made it ourselves. The Toyo R1R is a great tyre at a relatively affordable price. Personally I used it in amateur sport. It works wonderfully on wet or heavily "dirty" pavement. Surprisingly good on dry conditions at low temperatures (+ 3/5 degrees) R1R is not suitable for extreme driving at high temperatures. It is easy to overheat it, which significantly lowers the grip. The tyre is very soft and wears fast enough, but I do not consider it being fault. High stability in curvy roads gives a sense of security.
