Michelin Pilot Super Sport

While setting up my Peugeot 508, I took a chance and I had mounted the Michelin Pilot Super Sport tyres. As there is 163 horspower , I'm not able to verify the limit of adhesion from the start and the accelerate - the engine does not keep up with these tyres. Therefore, I can not comment about braking. In that case I think it's best to keep an eye on everyone and wear a seatbelt. Regarding the grip during cornering – that's a lot of fun! Not only the limits of adhesion are moved very far, it is when they are exceeded, there is no nervousness. The driving is extremely delicate and easily noticeable skating warns that the continuation will not be possible. Note that I'm using the 18-inch tyres and here a surprise - the comfort of elimination of inequality is still very decent. For me, it is a quiet tyre and the tyre wear not yet in sight. The Michelin Pilot Super Sport tyres are way better than the previous tyres that I had. This purchase did not disappoint me when it comes to the behaviour of the tyre in wet conditions. It really surprised me with the severely strong grip when cornering and braking. Brakes are improved and that was the bad side of my car. Now the problem has disappeared. Driving on a highway is a dream, much calmer than the Bridgestone’s, very gentle and quiet. Very good in comparison with predecessors, better speed and offset, slightly heavier wheels. My driving style is moderate, but generally fast and dynamic. Very light when you compare them with the predecessors. I think I will be able to drive on them up to 18-22 thousand miles. Simply the best tires I've ever had on any car I've owned. I've put the Michelin Pilot Super Sport on the BMW M5 and they have increased grip over the Continentials that came on the car. Frankly well beyond my expectations. This tyre isn't cheap as you probably noticed, but it's worth it. I felt compelled to buy them because they are really good. I can not comment on longevity as I have had them just for a few thousands of miles, but seem to be great and frankly I do not care if they'll use up earlier than the previous model as increase in adhesion is worth the money. I'm living in the UK so I drive a lot on wet roads. I was struggling a lot with the previous tyre, With these fitted to my car it's a complete game changer and I'm very impressed with them. I bought the Michelin Pilot Super Sport tyres. These are quiet and have an excellent adhesion. In a clear way raises safety and driving accuracy. Significantly reduces the car’s reaction time. This is the best tyre I have ever tried. It shows all its advantages when I compare it with all the tyres I had before. These tyres give me access to comfortable driving, which is amazing. I have had two sets of these tyres. Neither has lasted more than 12,000 miles (19, 200km) on the front axle. I drive in town and on motorways, so they don't meet abnormal challenges. Since buying the tyres I am reviewing, I have had to change again and have moved away from these tyres. In my opinion, considering the price and the results of the test the Michelin Pilot Super Sport definitely isn't overrated. For me it performs better than its previous model. Definitely better when it comes to traction, and the wear is improved too. Surprisingly positive force of the tire. The resistance to abrasion and impact is fine. Michelin Pilot Super Sports are simply the best tyres I ever put on my M3, the others being Continentals (useless), Bridgestone Potenza (pretty good) The Michelle Super Sports are a step up in grip, wear & noise. The M3 has now sadly gone but my RS4 will be getting a set of Super Sports when the current Michelin Pilots get replaced. Read more Collapse

Initially wanted to stick to Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 2's that I had on my 20'' wheels but they do not make them in the right size for my new 21'' wheels so went for Michelin PSS instead and apart from road noise increase they are just as good. The tyres have incredible grip for a road tyre, and this is true in both the dry and wet. On top of this, tyre wear is moderate and comfort is quite good. The only minor minus for being a little too noisy (I found the Conti in a similar size a little quieter). Read more Collapse

Sutible for fast road driving during the colder months, retains high levels of grip in standing water. Hasn't been tested on snow yet, but based on the tread pattern and tyre compound should have no issues whatsoever. Also grips with no issue in muddy fields. Read more Collapse

I have tried numerous tyres on various different cars but none have ever felt as planted as these do. When cold they can be a bit iffy but once warmed up these just seem to have endless grip. When replacement time comes around I'll be buying the same again. Read more Collapse

The best tyre I've ridden on, it performs very well in basically all conditions. A lot of stiffness in the side of the tyre but at the same time provides pretty good comfort. Compared to my previous Bridgestones it's a completely different level of ride. Read more Collapse

In the dry they are superb for high performance cars. I found that in the colder / damp conditions they require a little heat in them to feel confident. In wet conditions I can't comment as with 550hp and rear wheel drive it's unfair to any tyre. Read more Collapse

Came with the car from factory and I would never put different tyres on. Very impressed with the tyres in the dry. Not the best in the wet, but once you have some heat in these, the car can be like glue to the road. Also last longer than expected. Read more Collapse

Great tyre really pleased with it. Dry weather grip it is spectacular and great in the wet. Bit noisier than the Dunlop Sport Maxx I had on before also wearing a bit quicker but not by much. Extra grip more than compensates. Read more Collapse

I had enough of run flats on the mini. These were cheaper and a much better ride. Only problem is within a month I had a flat! Non repairable. But altogether, Michelin supersport out perform everyone else hands down. Read more Collapse

They wear well are comfy with great feel and grip like glue in the dry. They are expensive but you get what you pay for and reassuring that you know they are going to stop quick if u need to. Read more Collapse

I like the tyres very much, very confidence inspiring, never lost grip in the dry, some slight slip when setting off in cold and wet conditions but I do have a powerful rear wheel drive car. Read more Collapse

As my short summary. Hold better on the wet, feels much more comfortable ridewise and has very good grip on the dry. Less noisy than the Conti Sport. Will certainly use them again. Read more Collapse

I've used different tires but in the end I found the Michelin brand. And these are the tires that really suit me.
