The first number informs about the tread width of the 215/65 R16 tyre. The number is provided in millimetres and here it equals 215 mm. The second number equals the 215/65 R16 tyre profile's height and its percentage ratio to the tyre's tread width (65% out of 215 mm). The "R" in the tyre's size denotes its radial construction.
