My first winter tyres in 19 inches. The tyre of a reputable manufacturer in this size has an astronomical price.I did over 15 000 miles on the tires during 5 months of use, actually winter was not harsh, but I can still recommend the tyre to anyone who does not want to spend money on tyres from the "top" class, only because of the name of well-know brand. I have only a small reservation about the performance on wet surface, and is not suitable for sliding down - at least in my opinion. Read more Collapse

    Opinion from outside IE

There are many positive opinions about this tire in the internet. I suspect that the authors may be people who did not use much more expensive, top models (the top model is not necessarily the top brand, though usually). Well, after converting summer tires (Dunlop Sport Maxx RT 245/40/18 - supposedly one of the quietest) for winter one, you could notice two meaningful changes: very quiet performance and quite dangerous behavior of the car in the usual, but dynamic driving. The sport suspension does not hide tire defects so the differences were immediately noticeable for me without any extreme testing. Immediately after shifting the wheels, so in identical conditions (dry surface, about 10 degrees) the braking distance increased by 50%. With decisive, but not cracking cornering, the car buckled like damaged sleeves and was carried outside. On a wet surface, the braking distance is also longer than on summer tires, although not so drastically. However, there is a low aquaplaning tendency. I have no experience with snow - this year it will not be much better. The tire could not be perfectly balanced even after 3 drafts. At frequent speed of 50-60 mph, rumbling is heard. Opinion from outside IE

A year ago, I was using the Dunlop SP Winter Sport 3D (tread wear rate approximately 40%, but these were 4 years old so I had to replace them.. This year I bought the Imperial Snowdragon 3, and my first impressions are they are very similar to the Dunlop tyres I was using previously. They are a quiet-to-drive tyre and they handle brilliantly in deep snow. I felt my Dunlop’ tyres were better in the wet, but these still perform adequately for my needs. The braking is superb in most conditions and they provide great value for money. I believe 100%, that you are getting a tyre spec of a Dunlop/Michelin at a quarter of the price. It is quite a durable tyre, but I recommend changing tyres every 4 years, no matter what the brand is, as the rubber hardens. In summary, a much better winter tyre than premium brand Read more Collapse
