I was driving in Germany in 2014 had to buy Christmas winters, but I'm about 5000 miles a year so did not want the expense of separate wheels and two summer / winter tires. I arrived in the UK the Continental website and they recommended the UK, if you are only to run a set of tires, winters would be preferable. I bought the 830Ps after seeing them rated in a number of winter opinion, but, more importantly, finish above the budget marks in a review of summer tires (most people are concerned about the winter performance in summer). Personally, I had no problems on these tires, they have grasped in all conditions of sub zero to 25 degrees C in summer and both wet and dry. Note, I have not driven in the snow but I expect them to perform well. I have a reasonable walk to the right and a good quick drive through the occasional :-) country - in terms of wear, I just had a check up at the local BMW dealership and after almost 1 year and 5k miles fronts are still nearly 8 mm and back are so many left 7mm wear. I have a mixture mainly of driving traffic to the city, but occasional 200 mile motorway journeys. I spent much time reading reports and research that the tires would be better for my BMW especially in winter I worked well outside of town in a rural area prone to snow and non-gritted roads winter with some steep slopes on the road so that the potential of the winter in difficulty was high.
