Vredestein Quatrac 5

Vredestein Quatrac 5 are my first all-season tyres. I decided to use this alternative with the belief that the current technological progress will give me a few years of safe use, and I will probably avoid queuing for the vulcanizer twice a year. I drive on the Fiesta MK6, traveling about 12,000 km a year, mostly around the city. After a little more than half a year of use (including winter), I have the most positive feelings. Asymmetric tyre (winter and summer tread). In the dry season, there are no problems. It is quiet, it adheres well to the road, so far resistant to abrasion. The situation is similar in the case of wet conditions, where in the case of a soft and less aggressive driving, I did not feel any slips, or lose of control. I feel very confident in the car. Last winter I was a little disappointed, because the weather was really nice. It is true that the snow has appeared several times, but in small quantities and I can not consider it as a test site for tyres. Nevertheless, I did not feel any difference from the previous cold weather (Dębica Frigo 2). The Vredestein Quatrac 5 has not let me down yet and I hope it stays that way. Very good tyres for this price. Brilliant for wet and windy conditions in the UK and good in the extreme winter. Have more than 10,000 miles on them since January and still good for another 10. Great on long performance and value for money. No more carrying two sets of tyres for winter and summer for me. I live 400 meters in the valleys of Wales and driving in the southwest. Tyres get the extremes of all conditions. As good as the best winter tyres and 80 percent as good as the best brand of summer tires. Silence, silence and once again silence. That was the main thing which I expected from these tyres and I am not disappointed at all! Additionally driving comfort is really good. Traction is excellent as well. I can drive quite fast with same comfort level like on some lower speed. Sidewalls are strong enough if tyres are not used in difficult terrain. Perfect for normal city driving. Vredestein Quatrac 5 even looks nice. I did not test these tyres on snow only. Generally worth to recommend especially for drivers who value driving comfort. In recent years I used to change tyres for sumer and winter season. This year I decided to try all season tyres for a first time. Vredestein Quatrac 5 was recommended to me in my garage. When I was driving my first kilometers on snow and wet ice I felt quite safe. I am not sure if I will use all year tyres in the future yet but it looks really promising. Price is reasonable if compared with two set of tyres in my opinion. So, I recommend without any doubt. If you never used all season tyres it is worth to check it at least. Read more Collapse

Most probably I will drive through another winter on Vredestein Quatrac 5. I just have to pay attention and control how I drive my car in upcoming months now. Unfortunately I had no opportunity to try them on heavy snow weather last year even when I was in French mountains so I can not really make any opinion aboout this model if it comes to difficult conditions. I live in a very rural location where the roads are poorly maintained with frequent potholes caused by continual heavy rain. The tyres have performed very well with no sign of slippage or any feeling of losing control. Road noise seems to have only marginally increased over my previous standard tyres but this is hard to judge as the tyre treads were wearing thin when they were replaced. Overall I have been satisfied with the cost/performance of these tyres and will certainly look at buying them again. Read more Collapse

Looking for a four seasons certified mountain tyre and in 18 inches, there is almost nothing on the market, I chose this tyre which was elected N°1 by AutoBild in 2015, an international reference in car reviews. In the wet, I don't recognize my car anymore, as it has gained so much in safety/adhesion compared to the old ones. Lately I have always bought sets of all-season tyres from this manufacturer and I have always been very happy with them. I am sure that even this one, recently bought and not yet tested on snow, will not disappoint me. Fuel consumption appears to be no different to the previous Michelin Primacy tyres though, road noise is very slightly higher. It's too early to say about longevity, but so far wear looks acceptable for the mileage. Good grip on forestry roads, but as we have had such a mild winter, there has been no opportunity to test performance on snow or ice. Read more Collapse

I've already had a chance to try them out during a snowfall. Excellent grip thanks to the four wheel drive and the fact that they are new. The main advantage of having eliminated the second set of tyres with the related problems of disassembly and reassembly at the beginning and end of the season and the expense in particular due to the rims. Traveled about 10 thousand km. Mainly in a city. Very dynamic. However, whether driving a car on heavy snow or hot asphalt I do not feel that it is a tyre that is in a sense a compromise. Really quiet tyres. It is my second set of all season tyres and Vredestein Quatrac 5 is a lot more quieter that previous ones (premium class as well). This is my second set of Vredestein tyres. First one was enough for 38000 miles. This model, Vredesietn Quatrac 5, has already travelled 2,000 miles over land main Europe, including Austria with snow and slush. This is the best set of tyres I ever had on my vehicle. Tyre recommendable. Driving conditions: Dry / very wet surface. In the area: route / mountains / city. Perfectly drains water, very good adhesion, braking without a problem. They have a good grip on all surfaces, even if they will never be as good as tyres for specific season, but they are a good compromise for those who do not want to have two sets of tyres, they are very quiet and do not increase the fuel consumption, for now I still can not assess the longevity Read more Collapse

Brought these for my daugher so safety was important. She has 60 mile round trip to work and a bust social life. I think they are high quality tyres. They have significantly affected the comfort of driving, as well as the silencing of the car interior, they do not create any noise or other unpleasant sounds during driving, even at higher speeds. I rate them as very good. Read more Collapse

In fairness, I would give the quadrac 3 model 1 point more for its performance on wet asphalt, which is a little worse, but not bad. The rest is already a revelation: snow, starting and braking on dry, handling stability and quietness inside. Read more Collapse

Perfectly drains water, mud, does not bury in sand and snow (of course, if not in the desert and the Alps :)) The tyre, is like glued to the road surface. For our roads an ideal purchase, we forget about seasonal tyre replacement. Read more Collapse

I have always found Vredestien tyres to be excellent in all weathers. I have used quatrac or snowtrac tyres for approx 14 years and can't find better. I changed brands once to my cost and have remained with Vredestien since. Read more Collapse

4000 miles on these tyres, mostly on dry roads with several days driving on moderate snow covered roads. I find the tyres performed well in all conditions. Too early yet to comment on wear.i would buy these tyres again. Read more Collapse

Quiet tyres, on wet and dry meet expectations. on snow I can not tell, on ice seem ok. I do not notice any difference in consumption compared to summer tyres. it seems to me an excellent value for money. Read more Collapse

Great in muddy fields or snow/icy hills, especially with Quattro. Other 4x4 spinning wheels at events (and 4x2 needing rescued) but no drama with these even after 24hours of rain, simply drove away. Read more Collapse
