Tyre details:

The Michelin Alpin 5 is the fifth generation of Michelin's famous Alpin winter tyre series. This model is the successor to the Michelin Alpin A4. The aim of this latest version of the "alpine" tyre is to offer drivers optimal safety in any conditions found in winter on European roads. The tyre has been in development for 4 years and features a sharp, directional tread pattern with deep grooves and innovative blocks, elements that ensure excellent performance on snow, ice and wet surfaces.

They quickly and effectively disperse snow, water and slush, thus guaranteeing optimal grip, which effectively protects against aquaplaning, for example (loss of grip on wet roads). The dense arrangement of blades on the surface of the Michelin Alpin 5 creates a so-called "claw effect", which gives the tyre optimal tractionon snow and accurate steerability. The rubber compound used to make the tyre obviously plays an important role. This model is made from a rubber compound containing sunflower oil and silica (Helio Compound 4G). The use of this material means that the tyre retains its flexibility even at very low temperatures and this is another element that improves grip whilst driving.

Michelin is a premium tyre manufacturer that is very popular all over the world. The group owns brands including: BFGoodrich, Kleber, Kormoran, Riken and Tiger. Most of us think of the company's famous mascot, Bibendum or the Michelin Man, who has been the face of the French brand for many years. Michelin&Co. was founded in 1889, but the real start of the company was when the cousins of the founders of the Michelin brand opened a production plant producing various rubber products in 1932 in Clermont-Ferrand. 1889 (officially the year when Michelin was founded) is when the brothers Edouard and Andre took over the plant. One of the earliest major successes for the brand was the creation of the detachable pneumatic tyre. This and many other later successes mean that it is now one of the largest and best tyre manufacturers in the world.

Michelin Alpin 5 worked perfectly during the winter season. Driving in difficult conditions was scary and great tyres worked well in both dry and ice / snow. A slight increase in fuel efficiency, acceptable noise level in terms of safety and comfort that we feel while traveling. I highly recommend these tyres. If I could have more time to review the decision on the choice of tyres, undoubtedly the choice would be Michelin Alpin5. Excellent product. Read more Collapse

Very good tyre. Great performance in snow, you can easily control drifts and there are no problems with braking. Michelin Alpin 5 has fantastic wet grip, but I cannot tell much about dry conditions, because I do not use winter tyres on dry tarmac. After 1500 miles the treadwear is minor and the tread itself is in good condition. If after 2-3 years the tyre will be as good as it is now I will buy it once again or any other Michelin. Great tyres, significantly better than its predecessors. Perfect in every weather conditions. There was no real snow in winter so I cannot tell how they perform on snow, however I was drivinf while snowing and they were brilliant. The biggest advantage of Michelin Alpin 5 compared to the A4 is the behaviour on the wet. Both breaking and driving in turns is like driving on dry surface.I recomment these outstanding tyres. Superb tyres in every detail, the best I have ever had, and I had plenty. I did 30000 miles in one season and i am doing 100000 miles per year. I am driving BMW 5 E60 and the treadwear is not higher than 35% so I recommend them. Michelin Alpin 5 are very quiet (unlike other Michelins). Weather conditions are not significant for this tyre, because I feel confident in every weather. Read more Collapse

All previous winter tyres that I had were Goodyears, so buying Michelin Alpin 5 I risked, but it was worth it. The tyres are quieter from the summer ones, and in British winter in dry, wet or snow surface they perform as good. The treadwear is minor, after doing 15000 miles the tread wear was about 5%. I do recommend these tyres. Read more Collapse

I put the old belt these two winter tires on the front, purchased in the dark without any opinion as it is supposed to novelty (previously I was 7 Alpine 3) Tires mega wypasiorskie in contact while wearing a silikonik edge is not as such a soft rubber, which also oponiarz confirmed with the softer tires which specified that no, and if snow or dry as they keep Velcro, breaking hard off the grip. Another option is as if someone turned the direction of 3 degrees in a garage with a maneuvering finger, so it was not any tire that had so far;) Well, the silence filming in August Uses only two weeks, but once pure delight. I do not know how to be with wear, I hope, like alpine skiing 3, we now have enough for six seasons and watch singer tread continued to lend to rise. Maybe so strong, that I am the winter season is very short, I guess with the harsh winter and summer early spring. Read more Collapse

I am very happy with these tires. I felt confident cornering me with my old tires especially on wet and lost traction by pulling out the wet and still stuck in the snow. These tires are quite the opposite, they area very well and have a lot of traction in the dry and in the wet. I find the stopping distance is very similar in the dry, but reduced in wet and far superior in snow or frost. Last winter I helped pushed two cars with two other people and then got into my car and drove through 6-7 inches of snow no problem, I do not think they could believe. I researched the tires in cold weather and decided on these issues and I am so happy with them. I thought it was a trick to have tires in cold weather, but I can assure you that make this a big difference. Read more Collapse

I was wondering what tires to choose from. Continental did not have my size (850), so I chose the Michelin Alpin 5. I did a bit of soul on his shoulder because of the tests and examinations not heard (except for less ADAC). I do not know why there are still four alpine well. not many know, but today I did the first few hundred miles ..... and is stable and fairly quiet (I got up to 150 and the noise really a minimum, but the most important .. the burning of 400 km and average left me 4.9 / 100 where the tire I have been the same player 5.2-5.4 SURPRISE !!!! MORE horrible if someone can help, because few comments on the net :) I would personally recommend the course evaluation on snow and wet roads I wrote because I had to but I got barely dry. I bought these tires, two months ago. Previously, I threw in Alpen 3. They were pretty good and I could continue to climb, otherwise the woman foresight and speak that bald tires do not go "fun A5 keep wet roads," unfortunately "did not the possibility of seeing on snow and ice. "Unfortunately" testing times in these conditions very bottom is nice :). Tires ok but without going crazy. However, I noticed that the economic crisis (in terms of combustion), they are not. Something at the expense of something. But it is better to bet on safety and on the 50 zł a month more for fuel. Thus, either one shaft, and spillage, or 3 packs of cigarettes less. I welcome and I recommend. Read more Collapse

Long chose the winter tire choice fell on the Michelin Alpin tires 5 not the cheapest, but in hindsight, I must admit that the choice was very good, and now would not have happened in that other tires. The tires were great on the road where the snow was thick zajeżdżonego glaciated snow was not the problem that wgryzały tires "of the soil. During heavy rains or snowfall travel route at a speed of 140 kmh was not worth the car stick to the track perfectly. The braking distance very good. Incineration has increased slightly - almost imperceptibly. With a clear conscience I can recommend to all Michelin Alpin 5 ps.Jeżeliby all jeździliby on these tires, it would be safer on the roads. :) Read more Collapse

Michelin tires have always been a model of comfort and safety in my opinion. This is also the case this time, the tires are very quiet and at the same time very soft offering a great comfort of travel. I highly recommend to all users, the price, although a bit higher than other producers, is, however, the durability and satisfaction. Alpine 5 tires that I bought for the second time, in the previous car, it turned out that the set of tires causes the car to download - and again the Michelin brand held up, because I examined my complaint without delay withdrawing, after about 2 weeks, I received a completely new set of tires. I highly recommend it to everyone! Read more Collapse

After przesiadce Debica Frigo 2 and after many experiences with other winter tires is to certify that this is one of the best tires - put it on a par with Continental T830 and T850, and Yokohama WDrive . For too long, the snow was not there, but I came across the most rain during the trip to Muszyny late January. Alpin5 quietly gave advice in deep snow and on the snow-covered ice. The tire "puts" not on the sides when driving faster along the arc. For this is quiet. Consumption approx. 5000 km can not see above. Great winter tires. Alpine is the next generation standard tires. Last season I rode ALPIN4. I was very happy because the decision to buy the next generation of tires from the same manufacturer. A characteristic feature is that the tire is very quiet. Practically, it can not be heard. The comparable to summer noise tires. Holds the road well in both wet and dry surfaces at low temperatures and at high speed. Due to the current winter was not specifically a chance to try, but if the snow is at least as good as ALPIN4 I did not have better tires. Read more Collapse

Tires early behaved fantastic. I was very surprised by their grip, and in particular the removal of lateral sliding (rear wheel drive). Unfortunately, the number of kilometers driven their grip decreases. When a car with rear wheel drive and 160 hp after 4 months you will see and feel grip already clear decline. These are the tires for a fairly wealthy clients - have fantastic properties but does not belong to the most durable. You must reckon with replacement every three seasons - unless someone goes to 2 mm working :) Read more Collapse

Winter was friendly but little used in the snow. Most often in very quickly, but sometimes difficult corner. Tire quiet despite the high temperatures during the winter (15). The shift is more of Dunlop and Goodyear. In the worst puddles that summer, but can not post this. There are no signs of wear after a winter to longevity decrees. I put the older generation Michelin Alpin tires 4. Three years ago. The third season of winter. I drive a car with rear-wheel drive. With these tires, the car grips the road just after a snowfall. Car responds to acceleration and braking. We still love the snow falls, I want to test it, I push the gas and accelerates and brakes. After a full season (about 6000 km), I can recommend the tire to everyone. Maybe the winter was rather mild, but the tires never let me down. Even with a thick layer of ice, the car moved smoothly. Throughout the winter, I did not lose grip. The car is well soundproofed and comfortable, so I did not feel that the tires were too noisy or that the car would lose comfort. After traveling 6,000 km, the tire has 8 mm tread, I do not know how much it had to start. Very nice tread :) Read more Collapse

I bought these tires because for me winter is mainly that wet snow. The rain behaves perfectly. Zero slip and boxing circles, lack of understeer. In the dry course, the same thing. On snow or ice, you do not know what crazy, because every tire man can fly out of the way, but compared to other tires, and so is the revelation (where all can even exempt accelerate). Outstanding tire, it's quiet, flows well water and slush. Very good handling snow, both on the straight and corners. On the ice, no tire has no chance, but all I could ride without major problems.
