Opinion from outside IE
I had a set of BFG AT tyres on my last Discovery and they were very durable. But they were also very economical, and after 10,000 miles the compound became harder and they started to make noise. So when I needed a set of tyres for my current Discovery, I decided to look at the new Cooper ST Maxx and Goodyear Duratrac. I found a very good price on the ST Maxx at £100 a pop and after reading extensively I bought a set. I have to say that I am delighted. The tyres are exceptionally quiet despite the aggressive tread. They clean up nicely and I've never got stuck when riding off-road. On tarmac they grip exceptionally well and are very reassuring. I've never lost grip even in terrible rain or on greasy roads. I have to say I'm a steady driver, but I still think they are exceptional and can't recommend them enough. Read more Collapse

Great tyre, multipurpose but with a lot of off-road appeal, quiet on the road, excellent off-road, better in the mud than the BFG MT not to mention the AT, the only car on the trip to Romania that didn't have to use the help of others when driving in deep mud, I can't say anything about durability yet, it looks great, I chose it because of the unavailability of Duratrac GY and I really don't regret it. Tyres bought in mind to the fact that most fit in the US car. Aggressive tread. Read a lot of reviews before buying - from the US and Australia. Price also convinced me - in addition to the nature of the tyre we needed. Pleasant to have mud while giving a lot of fun to drive - rubs slowly - and it handles - compared to road tyres HP rumble at low speed - then roar at higher speeds! Read more Collapse

I am satisfied with the choice I made: this type of tyre is good for both city and suburban driving, the noise level is more than acceptable, a little deficient on wet asphalt, it copes well with mud on off-road and withstands bumps without any problems, and it has a good longevity.
